Dr Bronner: the story begins in 1858

The first Dr Bronner soap factory was founded in 1858, in southern Germany. In 1929, Emanuel Heilbronner, the descendant of the first soap makers, migrated to the United States with all the bar soap recipes of his ancestors. It was during this period that the brand became Dr. Bronner, Emanuel having removed the particle "Heil" from his surname, as a sign of disagreement with the government in power in Germany.

Since the 1960s, the brand has enjoyed phenomenal success all over the world, for one simple reason: the quality of its soaps.
