Why should you switch to natural shampoo?

At Veganie we know it's not easy to switch to organic or natural shampoo, yet these little nuggets pamper our hair much more than conventional shampoos 😻.

It doesn't matter if you have curly, straight, dry or oily hair, there will always be an organic shampoo that will satisfy you 😉! Focus on these wonders that delight our hair but also our senses!!!

Why should you opt for a natural shampoo?

As we know, classic shampoos are filled with controversial ingredients that are not unanimous: Silicone, paraben, SLS…. But what are these ingredients really, and how do they impact your health?

Know everything about harmful ingredients in conventional shampoos

  • Silicones: Like a Top Coat, they are used to smooth and shine hair ✨. Unfortunately they are only an illusion since they hide the true nature of your hair. In the long term, they form a thin layer of plastic material all around the scale which suffocates and makes the hair impermeable and insensitive to the care you give them.
Silicones can also be harmful to your health: some , such as cyclopentasiloxane are endocrine disruptors. For the environment ? They are toxic and represent a real risk for the aquatic environment. They take hundreds of years to degrade. ❌
  • Polyethylene Glycols or PEGs: These are very harmful humectants and emulsifiers derived from ethylene oxide which is a highly flammable gas. Carcinogenic molecules can contaminate this ingredient during the manufacturing process. They are also classified as endocrine disruptors and make the skin more permeable. They are not biodegradable in the environment or in your body ❌
  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS): Their foaming power turns heads and sometimes makes you believe that your shampoo is very effective. In reality they are allergenic, dry out and irritate the scalp. They will accentuate the presence of dandruff and aggravate cases of psoriasis, dermatitis and eczema. By weakening the skin, it makes it more permeable and receptive to the carcinogenic and toxic molecules present in your shampoo.
  • Parabens: These chemicals are used as preservatives. They are suspected of being endocrine disruptors. A study by Professor Philipa Varbre released in 2004 shows a link between parabens and breast cancer…. An ingredient that is therefore best avoided in your shampoos! 😉

Opting for a natural shampoo means giving up on these harmful ingredients and choosing products with healthy and clean compositions ✅!

The benefits of natural shampoo for your hair

By adopting a natural shampoo, you are choosing natural active ingredients that will really act on the beauty of your hair. While in a conventional “Lemon” shampoo the percentage of fruit extract is low and comes at the end of the INCI list, in a natural shampoo it is often among the first two lines 😊.

Often rich in vegetable oils, the natural shampoo nourishes and treats the hair in depth. The lengths are beautiful, shiny and detoxified.

Thanks to its healthy composition based on delicious essential oil, you will discover new scents that will awaken your senses and introduce you to a pleasant and bewitching ritual.

In short, choosing a natural shampoo means choosing a healthy product for yourself but also for our beautiful planet 💚!
